The record

Four panels lent by an American couple stood in the park from 2010 to 2013, painted with Kings of Freedom; the park now has a new mural wall in their place.

Four panels of the Wall were shown at Bedok Reservoir Park from 2010 to 2013, to mark the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Wall. Mothership, the Singapore news site, wrote in 2015 that graffiti artists had painted the four panels and that they were returned to their owner, Robert A. Hefner III, in 2013. The space was then left empty until the original artists were invited back, and in September 2015 the former foreign minister George Yeo unveiled a new mural wall in the same place, again called Kings of Freedom; Yeo said it would be permanent, with the reverse side left for students of Temasek Polytechnic to paint.

Where the panels went is not stated in that report. The University of Virginia's magazine said in 2014 that four panels lent by Robert and MeiLi Hefner, with Dennis Kaun's Kings of Freedom on their west face, had been unveiled on its campus; the university's pages do not mention Singapore, and Mothership does not mention Virginia, so the connection is the match of owner, number and title rather than a stated fact. The record keeps the Singapore listing as a former location. Its imported position fell in Kansas; the pin now marks the park.

How did it get here?

Lent by Robert and MeiLi Hefner; returned to Robert A. Hefner III in 2013.
