A gift between two district administrators in 2008, shown outside a library for a fortnight in 2019 and otherwise not on public view.
A concrete segment about 1.5 m wide and nearly 4 m tall, given to the city in 2008. In 2019 it was put up in front of a local library with a photographic exhibition, for two weeks. That is the whole of its public life so far, and it makes the record useful: a segment can be owned by a city, be entirely genuine, and still be something almost nobody has seen.
How did it get here?
A gift from Karl-Heinz Schröder, district administrator of Oberhavel in Brandenburg, to his Finnish counterpart Timo Nieminen. Oberhavel also supplied the segment given to the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy in Taipei the following year.
