Four elements arranged outside the university library at BTU Cottbus — and the rare case where the two inventories agree on a number.

Four wall elements are arranged in front of the Information, Communication and Media Centre of the Brandenburg University of Technology at Cottbus — the IKMZ. The Berlin Wall Foundation catalogues them in MAUERSPUREN as MAU-780, describing an arrangement of four displaced elements, photographed in October 2025 by the Foundation's director Axel Klausmeier.

The number is worth pausing on. The Berlin Wall Archive listing that put Cottbus in this catalogue in the first place reports four segments, and it was compiled independently of the Foundation. Most of the time the two inventories disagree about counts, because a piece of the Berlin Wall means anything from a 2.6 tonne element to a chip in a bag. Here they agree exactly, which is about as close to corroboration as this catalogue gets without somebody going to look.

How the four came to Cottbus is not recorded by either source.
