A painted wall element stands on the Berlin city boundary at the Osdorfer Straße, where the built-up edge of Lichterfelde gives way to the fields of Brandenburg. The Berlin Wall Foundation's directory of surviving traces holds two entries for the spot: MAU-706, recorded as a wall element at the Berlin city boundary on the Osdorfer Straße and photographed in 2016, and MAU-761, photographed in 2022 about the same distance from this record.
Whether those are two elements or one element catalogued twice is not something the directory settles, and it is not settled here either. Both entries are cited, and the record says what it can: at least one original element carrying a graffito stands on this stretch of the former outer ring.
The outer ring is the part of the border that almost nothing in this catalogue represents. Of the 155 kilometres of border around West Berlin, roughly 43 cut through the city itself and the remaining 112 ran through fields, lakes and village edges. That longer part was neither photographed nor sold in any quantity. Records on that line are rare, which is why a single element at a suburban road junction is worth keeping.
