Painted segments given to a small town near Modena on Valentine's Day 2008 by one of its own citizens, out of ten he had bought at an auction in Berlin.
Spilamberto is a town of some twelve thousand people. On 14 February 2008 one of its citizens, the young property entrepreneur Carlo Accorsi, gave it segments from a set of ten he had bought at an auction in Berlin. The accounts differ on how many came and how many are shown: one has all ten delivered and three standing in the garden of the Rocca Rangoni, while the Federal Foundation records four, given and now standing in the park of the Rocca. The town frames the display as an assertion of its self-declared identity as a town of diversity. Each segment is recorded at 3.6 m high, 1.2 m wide and about 3 tonnes — the standard Grenzmauer 75 dimensions, and a useful check against the nearly 2 m width published for the Canberra section.
Il Resto del Carlino, reporting the purchase a few days before the delivery, gave a third count: seven segments, four of them for the town and three kept by Accorsi, bought at Deutsche Grundstücksauktionen in Berlin with certificates, and at that stage intended for a park in the Pesa Vecchia quarter rather than the Rocca.

Il Resto del Carlino's report of 9 February 2008: seven segments weighing about twenty tonnes in all, bought at the Berlin auction house Deutsche Grundstücksauktionen AG by Carlo Accorsi, a 27-year-old from Spilamberto working in property in Estonia and eastern Germany, each 360 by 120 centimetres with original graffiti and a certificate; four to be given to the town, which planned to place them in a park in the Pesa Vecchia area, the other three kept by Accorsi.
