Three segments are held by the Royal Engineers Museum, displayed among the corps' large Cold War objects alongside a V2 rocket and a Harrier jump jet. The provenance is the point and it is nearly unique in this catalogue: 38 Squadron of the Royal Engineers dismantled the stretch of Wall running along the British sector of Berlin, and when the corps left the city in 1994 it was given three segments in thanks. Almost every other record here describes an object given to someone who wanted a symbol. This one was given to the people who took it down.

Presented to the Royal Engineers in recognition of their long presence in Berlin, after 38 Squadron demolished the Wall along the British sector. In Gillingham since the early 1990s.
