The record
A twelve-foot section inside the presidential library of the man who was in office when the Wall opened, still carrying its graffiti.
The segment at the Bush library is the centrepiece of its Berlin Wall / Age of Freedom exhibit, with the graffiti it wore in Berlin. The placement is the argument: this is the presidential library of the man in office on 9 November 1989, and the exhibit sets the segment among the other international events of that administration. The grounds also carry a sculpture whose sister casting stands at the Allied Museum in Berlin.
How did it get here?
Recorded by the library as a gift to President George Bush.
