The record
A slab mounted in a casino men's room with three urinals fixed to it behind glass. The original graffiti is intact, and nobody knows how it got there.
The slab at Main Street Station measures about 10 by 6 feet. The men's room it is mounted in is off the casino floor, and women can ask security for an escort to see it. This is the entry that tests the classification vocabulary: a genuine relocated segment, with unknown provenance, in a commercial building — and it is also the piece most people have heard of.
How did it get here?
Unknown. It was already in place when Boyd Gaming bought the property in the 1990s; the previous owners went bankrupt before opening. Provenance thins with distance from Berlin, and this is the extreme case.
