A fragment set into a public memorial with stones and plaques, in a town on the Uruguay river founded by German immigrants in the late nineteenth century and named after the city. It is among the smallest pieces in this catalogue — recorded at about 5 kg, against the 2.6 tonnes of a full element — and it is a useful corrective to the word “segment”, which is used in sources for anything from a complete 3.6 m panel to a chip in a gift shop bag.
