The Maison de la Radio's segment is one of the few in this catalogue given by one broadcaster to another, and the only record here where the donor is a radio station — which is apt, since radio was the medium that crossed the border most easily while the Wall stood.

The gift followed Radio France fait le Mur, twenty-four hours of live broadcasting that Radio France made from Berlin on 9 November 2009, the twentieth anniversary of the opening. Deutschlandradio's president, Willi Steul, then gave Radio France the section; it was delivered on 18 November and inaugurated the next day, alongside a photographic exhibition in the building's Galerie Seine. Since the renovation of the Maison de la Radio it has stood on the Seine side, beside the path from the RER C station to the main entrance.

Wie kam es hierher?

A gift from Deutschlandradio, presented by its president Willi Steul to Radio France; delivered on 18 November 2009 and inaugurated on 19 November.
