Der Eintrag

Ein Segment im Raum zum Kalten Krieg im Panzermuseum der französischen Armee.

Die ausführliche Geschichte, die Herkunft und die Quellenangaben dieses Eintrags liegen bislang nur auf Englisch vor.

The Musée des Blindés is the French army's armour museum, and one of the largest tank collections in the world. As at Langelandsfort in Denmark and the Patton Museum at Fort Knox, the segment is shown among the machinery of the confrontation rather than among civic symbols — a reading of the Wall as equipment.

The Foundation's entry, citing the museum, gives its route: a farewell gift from Berlin to the 11e Régiment de Chasseurs in 1994, when the French forces left the city, brought to Saumur after the French units in Germany were wound up in 1999.

Wie kam es hierher?

By the Foundation's account, given by the city of Berlin to the 11e Régiment de Chasseurs on the withdrawal of the French forces from Berlin in 1994, and brought to Saumur after the units in Germany were disbanded in 1999.
