The city's own press office recorded the mayor, Gert Hoffmann, laying a wreath „am Mauerdenkmal auf dem Platz der Deutschen Einheit“ on 13 August 2012, the anniversary of the building of the Wall, for the dead of the former inner-German border. When the element was set up and who gave it has not yet been read from a source that qualifies here.
