A memorial stone with a piece of the Wall in the Kurpark at Oberstdorf, the southernmost market town in Germany, in the Allgäu Alps. It is roughly as far from the border as it is possible to be and still be in the country — which is the point of a catalogue like this one: the Wall did not stay near where it stood.

It was unveiled on 3 October 1991, the first anniversary of unity, after a mountain mass and a ceremony on the Fellberg. The Bundesstiftung Aufarbeitung's memorials database records it as an original segment given to the town by the city of Berlin on the initiative of the councillor Dr Wolfgang Soergel, and set up near the unity oak planted the year before; its plaque reads „Berliner Mauer — Tag der Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands, 3. Oktober 1991“. The photograph's title calls the object a memorial stone and the database a full segment; both readings are kept.
