A 70th-birthday present to the brewery's owner Werner Brombach from his managing directors, sprayed with the Weißbräu logo.
A piece of the Berlin Wall was handed to Werner Brombach, owner of the Erdinger Weißbräu, at his 70th-birthday celebration in December 2009. The Münchner Merkur's report of 30 December 2009 describes a seven-hour celebration with 1,500 guests in the brewery's loading hall on Franz-Brombach-Straße, fitted out as a festival hall. The managing director Josef Westermeier recalled that Brombach had never accepted the division of Germany, which made the gift all the more fitting: Brombach stood visibly moved before a piece of the Berlin Wall with the Weißbräu logo sprayed on it, while a choir sang "Freude schöner Götterfunken".
The Wall Net, writing in August 2015 from its own photographs, places one segment close to the entrance to the brewery premises since 2009 and says a plaque names it as the managing directors' present for Brombach's 70th birthday. That position, and the segment's presence in 2015, rest on that account alone.
Where in Berlin the piece stood, whether it is still at the entrance and whether it can be seen from the street are not known; no page of the brewery about it was found.
