The record

A Berlin Wall display outside the Army's museum complex on the Missouri training post, free to visit for those who pass the base gate.

Fort Leonard Wood's official Army Family and MWR site, setting a history scavenger hunt for 31 May to 6 June 2020 in which every stop was outdoors, listed a 'Berlin Wall display outside the B. Mahaffey Museum Complex (Intersection of South Dakota and Nebraska Avenue)'. The U.S. Army Engineer Museum, at 495 South Dakota Avenue, Building 1607, is free and open to the public, but visitors must follow the base's rules for entry.

A marker recorded as erected by the U.S. Army in 2015 stands directly south of the complex; its text, as transcribed by the Historical Marker Database, tells the Wall's history from 13 August 1961 to November 1989 and says nothing about the pieces themselves. The Wall Net lists the memorial under the Engineer Museum and describes it as made from parts of the Hinterlandmauer, with further details unknown.

How many pieces there are, where in Berlin they came from, who gave them and when they arrived are not established by any Army source read.

How did it get here?

Not known; The Wall Net says the memorial is made from parts of the Hinterlandmauer.
