The record
Pieces of the Wall at a Malibu winery, bought at a private auction by its owner and shown to visitors of the vineyard.
Rosenthal – The Malibu Estate says on its own site that visitors to its Vineyard Experience can see "Pieces of the Berlin Wall" ("come check out a part of history"). Guests book the experience in advance.
The Malibu Times, reporting the winery's reopening in August 2025, says the piece "once was showcased" in the Pacific Coast Highway tasting room, that George Rosenthal bought it at a private auction, and that it had long been a conversation piece and a symbol of strength. The paper treats it as remarkable that the winery managed to save it. The winery says "pieces", the paper one piece; the Berlin Wall Archive lists two sections here. Where in Berlin they stood, when they were bought and where exactly on the estate they are now are not stated.
How did it get here?
Bought at a private auction by the winery's owner, George Rosenthal, according to the Malibu Times; date not stated.
