A section stands in the outdoor village at the Mennonite Heritage Village, among the windmill and the heritage buildings. The museum's subject is the Russian Mennonites who left the Soviet Union for Canada, which makes the object less incongruous than it first appears: the community that built this museum had its own experience of a state deciding who could leave, decades before the Wall was poured.
Wie kam es hierher?
Bought in Germany after the Wall came down by Martin Bergen of Winnipeg, and donated to the museum.
