The ground is the Domaine de Luchin, the training ground of Lille OSC, and the artist is the French stencil artist C215 — Christian Guémy. The portrait is of the footballer Eden Hazard, who came through Lille and left for Chelsea in 2012. The club unveiled the piece on 11 January 2016: nearly four metres high, 1.15 metres wide and over two tonnes, with Hazard on one face and, on the other, one of Thierry Noir's figures, of the kind he painted on the Wall itself in the 1980s. It opened a year of cultural projects at Luchin that became the ART LIBERTÉ exhibition.
In March 2024, when Hazard came back to Lille and the club named a pitch after him, the segment was moved to stand beside the new Terrain Eden Hazard.
The club's announcement dates the fragment to 1961. Nothing else read here supports that, so the date is left out. It is the only record in this catalogue where the painted subject is a living sportsman, and one of very few where named artists worked on an element specifically for its new owner rather than for Berlin.
The Berlin Wall Archive lists the segment under Lille, with a pin at the city's centre some fourteen kilometres away; its title follows the Wall Net's entry 'Lille, F', which places the one segment at the Domaine de Luchin with C215's Hazard on one face and Noir on the other, so that listing is carried on this page.
