The record

Spotted in a Berlin company's yard by a visiting foreign minister in 2019, shipped over in two months, and painted through a public competition.

A two and a half tonne segment stands in the garden of the Hotel Embajador. It is among the most recently placed records in the catalogue and it happened quickly: the Dominican foreign minister Miguel Vargas was visiting Germany in February 2019, his delegation called at a Berlin company, someone noticed original segments standing in the yard, and the idea of giving one to the Dominican Republic started there.

After a two-month journey it was presented on 9 November 2019, the thirtieth anniversary, with the foreign minister present. The German embassy and the Dominican foreign ministry then announced an art competition to decide how it should be painted, opened on 10 December 2019 — International Human Rights Day. Most segments in this catalogue arrived already painted, by whoever reached them in Berlin. This one arrived bare and had its surface decided by a public competition thirty years later.

Noticed in the yard of a Berlin company during Foreign Minister Miguel Vargas's visit in February 2019, and shipped over the following two months.
