The record

Three segments reported standing opposite the visitor centre of the Defence Ministry's Bonn seat since 1990, inside the Hardthöhe perimeter.

The General-Anzeiger walked the Hardthöhe in September 2018 for a feature on the "city within the city" where more than 5,000 people work, and among the things it passes between the medical centre, the art on the buildings, the central printing works and the Bundeswehr's computing centre is "ein Stück der Berliner Mauer", near the visitor centre that receives school and student groups. That is the only mention this atlas has found in a source independent of the general references, and it says nothing of how many pieces there are or how they came.

The Wall Net, a general reference, says three segments have stood opposite the ministry's visitor centre since 1990, and that the ministry kept its first seat on the Hardthöhe when most of the government moved to Berlin, with a second seat at the Bendlerblock. Its photograph is credited to the Bundeswehr.

The Hardthöhe is a closed federal site: the pieces stand on the ministry's grounds and are not open to the public.

How did it get here?

Set up on the ministry's Bonn site in 1990, by The Wall Net's account; the donor and the segments' origin in Berlin are not recorded in anything read here.
