A segment from Potsdamer Platz on a square Paris renamed for the date the Wall opened, two years before the segment arrived.
A section stands on the central median of the Place de la Porte de Versailles. The square was named the Esplanade du 9-Novembre-1989 by order of the Paris city council on 18 January 2007 — the name came first, and the object arrived two years later, which is the reverse of the usual sequence in this catalogue. It was inaugurated in 2009 for the twentieth anniversary by the mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë, and the governing mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit.
