The record
Two painted elements that stood three years in a Lünen beer garden and were moved on 1 September 2020 to the courtyard of the Ruhr Nachrichten press house for the publisher's 150th anniversary.
The Ruhr Nachrichten reported on 1 September 2020 that two original pieces of the Berlin Wall had arrived that day in the courtyard of its own press house on the Westenhellweg, set up for the 150th anniversary of its publisher, Lensing Media, under the jubilee motto "Freiheit durch Wissen". The artist is Michael Nolte of Cappenberg, who was born in Lünen and works as miNo. The publisher Lambert Lensing-Wolff is quoted wanting visitors and staff to walk past the opened wall pieces and think about the value of peace and freedom, adding that the democratic state was and is not a given and cannot be kept without a free press and local journalism.
The same paper's Lünen edition reported the other end of the move: three elements, 2.8 tonnes each, had stood in the beer garden of the restaurant Westermann's, and two of them left for the Lensing-Carrée. The Lünen beer garden has its own page in this atlas, and what became of the third element is not said.
The Wall Net, a general reference, repeats the 2020 move and the publisher's words, and adds that the pair was painted by miNo while in Lünen. Where the two stood in Berlin is not given by any page read in full.
