The record

Jimmy Fell's 'Blaues Tor', four Wall segments set up like Stonehenge and aligned on the midsummer sun, beside a fifteenth-century watchtower.

The Niederlauer artist Herbert 'Jimmy' Fell set up four original pieces of the Berlin Wall as the 'Blaues Tor – West-Tor', aligned on the sun at the summer solstice and arranged like Stonehenge. His own archive photograph of 2010, published on Wikimedia Commons with his permission, shows the blue gate in front of the Dicker Turm, a watchtower of the fifteenth century. The Rhön- und Saalepost, announcing one of his midsummer fire events at the tower on 22 June 2014, wrote that the Wall elements had had their fixed place at the Dicker Turm for years, and that his 'Steinkreis' project continued them.

A photograph of the tower taken on 10 April 2016 shows the four blue slabs of the gate and, on the green beside it, further grey slabs with graffiti. The municipality lists the Platz am Dicken Turm on the Turmstraße among its venues and says it became known for Fell's former midsummer fires; it does not mention the Wall. Who holds the gate today is not established, and nothing later than 2016 has been read.

How did it get here?

Four original elements, set up by the Niederlauer artist Herbert 'Jimmy' Fell; who holds them now is not recorded.
