A section painted by Thierry Noir in 2007 in the exhibition hall of Doha's convention centre, a German gift for the 2017 year of culture.
A section of the Berlin Wall stands in the exhibition hall of the Qatar National Convention Centre in Education City, carrying a design by Thierry Noir completed in 2007 — long after the Wall came down, so this is Noir painting a piece of it again rather than a survival of his 1980s work on the west face.
The German embassy gave it to Qatar Museums in 2017 as part of the Qatar–Germany Year of Culture, together with a second, original panel that now stands in the atrium of Georgetown University in Qatar under a kilometre away.
