One section from Waldemarstraße, part of sixteen shipped to the United States by barge and freighter after 1989. The Times Square attraction has since closed.
The sixteen were ten-foot sections acquired by Edward Meyer shortly after 1989, shipped by barge to Hamburg, freighter to New Orleans, then trucked to Orlando for distribution — roughly 40,000 lb in total. Where this section went after the Times Square attraction closed is not established here.
How did it get here?
From Waldemarstraße in Kreuzberg. Thierry Noir and Kiddy Citny painted that stretch in September 1985, and the photographers Liselotte and Armin Orgel-Köhne documented it in ten poster photographs — which makes it one of the few stretches whose pre-sale appearance can be checked against a dated image.
