An element of about 2.5 tonnes stands at Langelandsfort, the coastal fort that watched the Baltic approaches for NATO from 1953 until the Cold War ended and has been a museum since 1997. The setting is unusually literal: the segment is displayed among the hardware of the confrontation it belonged to — the submarine Springeren, the minesweeper Askø and a Soviet MiG-23. Most recipients place a segment among civic symbols; this one places it among weapons.

A gift from the Berlin Senate in 2011, recorded as originally standing at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin-Mitte.
