Seven segments standing in a Bavarian village, bought privately for 2,000 Deutsche Marks after the Wall came down.

Seven segments stand near the Schmutterhalle in Diedorf, a village of a few thousand people nine kilometres west of Augsburg. They are privately owned. Seven elements is a larger run than most national capitals in this catalogue hold, which is a good illustration of how little the distribution had to do with significance: the segments went where someone turned up with money and a lorry.

How did it get here?

Bought by Mathias Maresch for 2,000 Deutsche Marks after the Wall came down, and still in his ownership.
