A short row of elements by the station, on the square that supplied a great many of the segments in this atlas.

A short row of elements stands in the pedestrian area by the station, with plaques. The square matters to this catalogue out of all proportion to what is left on it: Potsdamer Platz is the origin named again and again on records elsewhere in the world — Tallinn, Langeland, Canberra, Seattle, the Paris esplanade, the Battery Park slabs. It was a wide, cleared, heavily built stretch of border in the centre of the city, and when the elements were sold and given away after 1990 this is disproportionately where they came from.

How did it get here?

Elements returned to the square rather than standing where they were built, which is why this reads as a relocated display and not a preserved position.
